Job summary

AWS is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to lead the design of data centres within the Europe, Middle East & Africa region and support global projects. You will work with Architects, Engineers and Designers to ensure uptime, security, efficiency and cost effectiveness while solving complex challenges.

The role involves directing conceptual designs, budgeting, scheduling, RFPs, and coordinating with internal customers and external consultants throughout construction and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Experience in data center or mission-critical facilities is preferred.
• PE or architectural license is desirable and knowledge of codes is important.

Responsibilities

• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation through construction.
• Create and track metrics for design cost, quality and duration; manage budgeting with stakeholders.
• Schedule engineering resources and influence design changes based on internal needs.
• Define project scope, schedule and deliverables; manage external design consultants.
• Identify cost-saving design opportunities and coordinate with internal/external teams.
• Travel for site assessments and meetings; coordinate with design consultants during construction.
