Job summary

eDreams ODIGEO seeks a Rail Senior Business Analyst in Barcelona (hybrid) to shape the long-term rail strategy. You will generate actionable insights from data, partner with Product, CX, Data Science, Marketing, and other teams, and translate business needs into dashboards and monitoring of Rail KPIs.

You will build business cases for new rail markets, routes, and pricing strategies, ensuring progress through influential stakeholder engagement and data-informed decisions.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in a role with a strong analytical component.
• Advanced Office/analytical tools; experience with Google toolset.

What you will do:

The Role's Key Responsibilities

• The Rail Strategy Business Analyst's mission is to contribute to the Rail strategic roadmap with business insights, ie. to generate business insights from data analysis so that they can translate into improvements across our rail product. Working together closely with Rail leadership.
• Responsible for execution of key analysis, being the data entry point for the business team and taking ownership of the database from the business side. Understand the business needs, gather the data and present the key insights: "Contribute to the Rail strategic roadmap with numbers."
• Closely partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Customer Experience, Data Science, Marketing, etc.) to identify key metrics and develop dashboards that provide insights and drive decisions.
• Develop and communicate business cases to support strategic product decisions: e.g. which new rail markets or routes should we prioritise? What should our pricing and inventory strategy be?
• Create dashboards and tracking: master the internal Business Intelligence tools to contribute to the monitoring and tracking of our business KPIs. Work with data engineering and data science teams to be able to leverage all our internal data.
• Contribute to the delivery of key Rail strategic projects: participate in the delivery of key internal projects, giving support from the business and analytical side to ensure progress and effective delivery of the desired outcomes by influencing key stakeholders.
• Be the eyes and ears of the Rail team, absorbing and sharing both internally and externally relevant market information (eg. competitor developments) with the wider team to inform decision making.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills, fast-learner, with high attention to detail and focused on results and productivity
• Experience in a role with a strong analytical component
• Advanced Office skills. Strong experience with analytical tools, ideally with the Google toolset (spreadsheets, google docs, etc).
• Experience with using AI tools to analyse data and problem solve
• Knowledge of SQL, as well as experience in working with databases and large sets of data; and experience with Google DataStudio is required.
• A self-starter and team player, who also enjoys to have fun!
• Business Proficiency in English.
• Good to have experience in the Travel Industry, Rail products, consulting or B2C Subscription businesses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as Gemini, or other AI-powered assistants.
• Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into workflows.
• AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to streamline processes, and enhance productivity.
• Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
