Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Bermeo, Spain, seeks a Test Engineer to plan, prepare and execute engine test campaigns, ensuring accurate data collection and safe operation of complex engine platforms.

You will collaborate with plant personnel, instrumentation and automation teams, and RDE experts to guarantee readiness, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvements in testing methodologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronic/automation, mechanical, energy, or industrial engineering.
• Experience with internal combustion engines.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate activities in an industrial environment.
• Interpret and validate electrical, hydraulic, and automation diagrams.
• Proficiency in data acquisition and analysis tools.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and execute engine tests under various load and running conditions.
• Report and document test results; prepare technical reports.
• Monitor and analyze test data; identify anomalies and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate with plant teams, I&M and RDE experts to ensure readiness and successful tests.
• Lead and supervise the mechanic-operator team; ensure proper execution and training.
• Ensure safety of all personnel by enforcing safety protocols.
• Participate in progress meetings with MET to review requirements and priorities.
• Contribute to innovation and process improvement in testing methodologies.
