Wärtsilä is seeking a Service Engineer Propulsion to join its Field Service team in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The role combines hands-on mechanical work with control system diagnostics to support commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of propulsion equipment on vessels and in shipyards.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree in engineering, propulsion system experience, and strong English skills, with the ability to travel globally up to 80%.

Formación

• Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
• Experience in service, maintenance, or operation of propulsion equipment and systems, ideally marine.
• Understanding of control and automation systems, PLCs and electrical systems used in marine propulsion.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide (70-80%) and work on vessels and shipyards.
• MS Office skills.

Responsabilidades

• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on propulsion equipment and control systems.
• Executing commissioning activities, sea trials, and system performance verification.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and automation-related issues.
• Supporting propulsion control system upgrades, parameter adjustments, and operational testing.
• Conducting inspections and condition assessments of propulsion equipment.
• Preparing detailed technical, service, and travel reports after each assignment.
• Providing technical support and guidance to customers on-site and remotely.
• Collaborating closely with a global network of engineers, technical experts, and project teams.
• Ensuring all work complies with Wärtsilä quality, safety, and environmental standards.
