Job summary

PLD Space in Elche, Spain, seeks a Quality Management System Engineer to lead and support quality assurance across the organization, developing and maintaining the QMS, and driving improvements in line with ECSS, ISO 9100 and ISO 14001.

You will perform audits, manage documentation, enable certification readiness, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence in our aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Aerospace preferred).
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Minimum 3 years in quality assurance, preferably aerospace.
• Experience with ISO 9100 quality management systems.
• Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute internal and external audits in accordance with ECSS, ISO 9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
• Drive development and implementation of processes to achieve and maintain ISO certifications (9100, 14001).
• Oversee quality gates, KPIs, and control mechanisms to ensure product lifecycle compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for certification audits and address gaps.
• Serve as primary contact during certification and surveillance audits by external bodies.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for quality and safety hazards.
• Manage configuration control and documentation for certifications (9100, 14001).
• Prepare reports, guidelines, and manuals for internal and external reviews.
• Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Drive culture of quality and operational excellence within the organization.
• Stay updated on best practices and regulatory requirements and integrate into product assurance.
• Generate documentation for program development reviews and internal customers.
• Provide feedback for MIURA 5 program development planning.
