Job summary

PLD Space in Elche, Spain, leads in aerospace with MIURA launchers and LINCE capsule. The Non-Destructive Inspection Engineer will define, develop, evaluate and improve NDT processes for aerospace parts and contribute to equipment design and sourcing.

You will perform QA for NDT executions, post-process data, plan inspections, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams. Fluency in English and a background in materials or aerospace engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Materials, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineer or related disciplines.
• English fluency is mandatory.
• Fluency in digital review and processing of NDT data is mandatory.
• Deep knowledge of main NDT methods (visual, dye penetrant, radiography, ultrasound).
• Good knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques and defects.
• Familiar with ECSS, ISO, EN, ASTM, ASME, MIL standards.

Responsibilities

• Create work methodologies and procedures or improve existing ones.
• NDT feasibility studies.
• Assess inspection requirements, conditions and outcomes.
• Qualify NDT methods and equipment.
• Internal NDT QA (records, verifications, calibrations).
• Collaborate in design of inspection equipment and tooling.
• Collaborate in sourcing equipment, tooling and accessories.
• Inspections planning.
• Assist in post-processing of test data.
• Assess externally executed inspections.
• Research state of the art in inspection methodologies.
