SGS seeks a senior QA/QC Lead to oversee vendor quality surveillance during the fabrication of mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, reformers, and conveyors. The role involves coordinating inspections with vendors and inspectors across Spain and Italy, ensuring compliance with ASME VIII Div.1, ASME B31.3, and PED 2014/68/EU.

Responsibilities include reviewing ITPs and certificates, managing NCRs, and reporting progress to project management.

Formación

• 8+ years of QA/QC inspection experience in mechanical equipment fabrication.
• Credentials in welding inspection (CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI or IWI) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME/ PED conformity and quality documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Review ITPs, WPS/PQR/WPQ, NDE reports, material certificates, and fabrication records.
• Perform vendor quality inspections during fabrication including welding, PWHT, testing, coating and final release.
• Coordinate inspection activities with vendors and third-party inspectors across Spain and Italy.
• Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and root cause investigations.
• Verify MRBs, DoCs, PED conformity, and CE marking documentation.

We are seeking a senior QA/QC Lead to oversee vendor quality surveillance activities for the fabrication of mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, reformers, conveyors, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation, NDE reports, material certificates, and fabrication records.
• Perform vendor quality inspections throughout fabrication, including material receipt, fit-up, welding, PWHT, pressure testing, coating, and final release.
• Coordinate inspection activities with vendors and third-party inspectors across Spain and Italy.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and root cause investigations.
• Verify Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs), Manufacturer's Data Reports, PED conformity documentation, CE marking requirements, and Declarations of Conformity.
• Provide regular reporting on inspection progress, risks, and quality performance to project management.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in QA/QC inspection of static and mechanical equipment fabrication within oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, energy, or industrial projects (10+ years preferred).
• Proven hands-on experience with ASME VIII Div.1, ASME B31.3, and PED 2014/68/EU conformity assessment for CE-marked equipment (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, NDE, material traceability, and quality documentation.
• Experience conducting shop surveillance and vendor inspections.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Certified Welding Inspector qualification such as CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, or IWI-S/IWI-C.
• Good understanding of NDE methods and quality management processes.
