TEICON Engineering GmbH is seeking a skilled Welding/Piping Inspector to support a major international project in Catalonia. You will monitor fabrication, welding, testing and quality control to ensure compliance with project specs, approvals, codes and client requirements.

Strong focus on traceability, documentation and NDT coordination across multiple disciplines. You will verify materials, inspect joints and pipe routing, witness tests and participate in punch-point closure and mechanical

Formación

• Hold a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience in welding and piping inspection on EPC/oil and gas projects.
• Knowledge of piping inspection activities, materials, specifications and quality documentation.
• Experience with fabrication, erection and installation at yards and industrial sites.
• Familiarity with welding inspection requirements, documentation and codes.

YOUR PROJECT ASSIGNMENT

In this role, you will support our client in the execution of a major international industrial construction project.

You will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting piping fabrication, installation, welding, testing and associated quality control activities. You will ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, applicable codes and standards as well as client requirements.

• Start Date: ASAP
• Completion of Work: approx. 31 March 2027
• Duration: Until approx. 31 March 2027, with the possibility of extension
• Workload: 56 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You verify piping materials against approved drawings, material specifications and Material Test Certificates (MTCs).
• You ensure that material identification and traceability are maintained throughout piping fabrication and installation.
• You inspect pipe fit-up, alignment, joint preparation, flange orientation and dimensional tolerances.
• You verify pipe routing, slopes, clearances and the correct installation of piping supports in accordance with isometric drawings, P&IDs and applicable project requirements.
• You perform inspections during piping fabrication, erection and installation activities and monitor compliance with approved specifications and quality requirements.
• You witness hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests as well as flushing, cleaning and leak testing activities where required.
• You verify the closure of relevant punch points and support the verification of mechanical completion requirements.
• You inspect joint preparation, welding consumables and welding equipment prior to the commencement of welding activities.
• You monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and applicable project requirements.
• You verify welding parameters and interpass temperatures where applicable.
• You perform visual inspections of completed welds and ensure correct weld identification and traceability.
• You coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including Visual Testing (VT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Radiographic Testing (RT).
• You verify the correct implementation of approved welding repair procedures and inspect repaired welds.
• You review and verify test packages, test boundaries and associated test documentation.
• You monitor compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure that all required inspection and hold points are properly addressed.
• You identify quality deviations, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and monitor the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
• You prepare and maintain inspection reports, surveillance reports and daily quality records.
• You maintain welding logs, weld maps, pressure test records and piping inspection documentation.
• You support client inspections, quality audits, mechanical completion and project closeout activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• You have a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• You have at least five years of professional experience in welding and piping inspection within EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, Power Plant or Pipeline projects.
• You have sound knowledge of piping inspection activities, piping materials, material specifications and quality documentation requirements.
• You have experience with piping fabrication, erection and installation activities both in fabrication yards and on industrial construction sites.
• You have sound knowledge of welding inspection requirements, welding documentation, applicable codes and quality control procedures.
• You are familiar with pressure piping systems, process piping, utility piping and relevant structural interfaces.
• You have experience in material traceability, weld identification, welding documentation, pressure testing, punch-point management and mechanical completion.
• You are familiar with the coordination and witnessing of NDT activities, including VT, PT, MT, UT and RT.
• A Level II qualification in VT, PT, RT and/or UT would be advantageous.
• You have working knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping, ASME Section V, ASME Section VIII and ASME Section IX.
• You are familiar with project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and applicable inspection and quality control procedures.
• You are confident in reading and interpreting P&IDs, piping isometric drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings and plot plans.
• You are able to work effectively with Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning, contractors and client representatives.
• You have a structured, independent, quality-conscious and safety-oriented working approach.
