NES Fircroft is seeking a QA/QC Lead for equipment fabrication projects based in Spain, preferably in the Barcelona area. The role focuses on surveillance of vendor fabrication activities for pressure vessels, reformers, heat exchangers and piping, combining technical document reviews with hands-on field inspections.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering diploma or equivalent, with 8+ years in QC/inspection for process industry equipment, and certifications in welding inspection

• Senior role: minimum 8 years QC/inspection in fabrication of static and mechanical equipment.
• Requires hands-on inspection experience reconciling ASME VIII Div. 1 and ASME B31.3 with EU PED 2014/68/EU.
• Equivalent combination of trade qualification with inspection experience considered.

Responsabilidades

• Owns day-to-day execution of vendor quality surveillance for fabrication of mechanical equipment.
• Conducts desk-based technical reviews (ITPs, welding/NDE docs, inspection reports, MRBs).
• Carried out field inspections at vendor shops in Spain and Italy.

QA/QC Lead – Equipment Fabrication

Location: Based in Spain (Barcelona area preferred)

Duration: 18-24 months

Role responsibility:

The role owns the day-to-day execution of vendor quality surveillance for the fabrication of all mechanical equipment supplied to the project — pressure vessels, reformers, heat exchangers, shop-fabricated piping, conveyors and associated equipment — combining desk-based technical review (ITPs, welding/NDE documentation, inspection reports, manufacturing record books) with hands-on field inspection at vendor shops in Spain and Italy.

• Candidates must have demonstrated, hands-on inspection experience reconciling an ASME design basis (ASME VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3) with European PED 2014/68/EU conformity assessment on equipment placed on the EU market under CE marking.
• Senior role (minimum 8 years of relevant QC/inspection experience in the fabrication of static and mechanical equipment for the process industries; 10+ years preferred)
• Looking for a technical or superior diploma in mechanical engineering, welding, metallurgy, materials or industrial engineering. An equivalent combination of a recognised trade qualification in welding/fabrication together with demonstrated inspection experience will also be considered.
• Required certifications include a welding inspector qualification (CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or IWI-S/IWI-C) and NDE understanding.
• Spanish and English are mandatory.
