Job description

At K-LAGAN, we are looking for a Prototype & Pre-Series Technician to join an automotive project focused on bumper development and launch activities.

In this role, you will work closely with the Design Lead, providing hands‑on technical support during the prototype and pre‑series phases. You will help identify and solve product issues, implement and validate design modifications, and ensure that bumper components meet the required standards for fit, finish, geometry and functionality before entering series production.

What will your responsibilities be?
  • Prototype development and rework: Build, modify and rework prototype and pre‑series bumper components to address product issues and validate proposed solutions.
  • Fit & finish: Identify and resolve issues related to bumper fitment, gaps, alignment, geometry, assembly and surface appearance.
  • Hands‑on modifications: Perform practical adjustments to plastic components, including trimming, sanding, drilling, deburring and other rework operations as required.
  • Design support: Work closely with the Design Lead to propose and implement design changes in response to issues identified during assembly, plant activities or customer evaluations.
  • Testing and validation: Carry out functional and dimensional checks, record measurements and document validation results.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation related to proposed modifications and share findings with the project team and customer.
  • Pre‑series support: Coordinate rework activities on components intended for customer delivery and support bumper assembly during prototype and pre‑series phases.
  • Surface finishing: Support the resolution of cosmetic issues, working with painted, coated or chrome‑finished plastic components where applicable.
What are we looking for?
  • Previous experience in automotive prototyping, mock‑up activities, pre‑series production, component rework or fit & finish.
  • Hands‑on experience working with plastic automotive components, ideally bumpers or other large exterior parts.
  • Ability to identify and solve issues related to component geometry, fitment, assembly and surface quality.
  • Practical skills in modifying, adjusting and finishing physical parts using appropriate workshop tools.
  • Experience with painted or chrome‑finished plastic parts will be highly valued.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand dimensional requirements.
  • Experience working alongside design, product engineering, manufacturing or quality teams.
  • A proactive, detail‑oriented and solution‑focused approach, with the ability to work independently on practical tasks.
  • Join an automotive project focused on new product development and launch.
  • Work directly alongside the Design Lead and contribute to solving real product engineering challenges.
  • Take an active role in prototype validation and pre‑series activities.
  • Develop your experience in automotive product engineering and industrialisation.

If you enjoy working hands‑on with automotive components, solving technical problems and turning design solutions into physical parts, we would love to hear from you!
