Position Overview:

We are seeking a Project Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for the technical design, development, and implementation of automated material handling solutions for industrial clients.

This role combines project management, technical engineering, and customer coordination , ensuring the successful realization of projects from the RFQ (Request for Quotation) phase through to commissioning, always meeting budget, quality, and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design and development of customized automated material handling systems.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources , ensuring adherence to technical and financial targets.
• Coordinate and review RFQ (Request for Quotation) documentation, preparing detailed cost estimations and feasibility analyses.
• Translate customer requirements into functional system designs and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure alignment across all project stages.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with project objectives.
• Serve as a technical interface with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and smooth execution.
• Identify potential risks and propose corrective or preventive actions during the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) .
• Experience in managing or supporting engineering projects, ideally in automation, intralogistics, or material handling systems .
• Solid knowledge of RFQ processes , cost estimation, and project budgeting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems design , including integration of automated equipment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Availability to work on-site in Madrid and occasionally travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automated storage systems, conveyors, robotics, or warehouse logistics .
• Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD, or similar engineering tools .
• Experience managing international projects with multiple stakeholders.

The expected salary range for this position is €35,000–€41,000 gross per annum. However, the final offer will be aligned with the candidate's level of experience, technical capabilities, skills, and the value they can bring to the project.

What you'll do (the role)
Summary
The Project Manager in the Global Transformation Management Office (TMO) team leads delivery of digital and non‑digital projects across the global portfolio, applying the most appropriate agile or traditional methodology to ensure outcomes are delivered to scope, time and budget. They own a single source of truth for operational plans, coordinate resources and vendors, manage risks, issues and dependencies, and drive stakeholder alignment and decision‑focused governance to realise measurable business value. Reporting into the TMO Program Management function, they also coach and enable delivery teams and provide concise, data‑driven reporting and continuous‑improvement inputs to ensure predictability and strategic alignment

Responsibilities of the Role

• Deliver project outputs to scope, time and budget: t ranslate project objectives into measurable milestones and acceptance criteria; execute plans to deliver agreed outputs, monitor spending and elevate deviations early to protect outcomes.
• Own operational plans and a single source of truth (SSoT): maintain and govern up to date project plans, task lists, backlogs, dates, owners, dependencies and risks so the team has one reliable dataset for prioritisation and decision making.
• Coordinate resources, vendors and cross project dependencies: secure and allocate internal and third‑party resources, manage capacity and portfolio overlaps, and proactively resolve interproject dependencies to keep delivery on track.
• Support stakeholder coordination, clear communication and decisions: proactively align stakeholders, prepare concise meeting artefacts, run decision focused forums, capture actions/owners and follow up to ensure timely inputs and approvals.
• Manage day to day risks, issues and change control end to end: own risk and issue logs, quantify impacts, implement mitigations, apply change control for scope/schedule/cost changes and elevate unresolved or high impact items to the senior PM or sponsor.
• Facilitate delivery team performance and capability: remove blockers, coordinate BAs and vendors, ensure tasks have owners and realistic estimates, and coach PM/BA colleagues to model strong delivery behaviors.
• Provide reliable reporting and drive continuous improvement: produce concise, data driven weekly status updates (R/Y/G, KPIs), track commitments vs outcomes, capture lessons learned and propose small process improvements to raise delivery quality

**Role Overview**

The Data Center Program Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and driving the integrated program plan for a portfolio of Data Center projects. Operating at a senior level, this role requires strong scheduling expertise, the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders, and the maturity to coordinate multiple complex projects with limited oversight.

The Program Planner ensures that resources, schedules, risks, and dependencies are aligned across the program, enabling predictable, coordinated delivery. This role is central to the operational success of the Data Center portfolio and requires a blend of technical planning capability, leadership presence, and program‑level thinking.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Program Planning & Technical Excellence**

• Develop, maintain, and continuously refine the integrated program plan covering all Data Center projects.
• Establish planning standards, sequencing logic, and schedule governance aligned with AECOM's PDS and PMO frameworks.
• Apply advanced scheduling techniques (critical path, float analysis, EVM) to assess progress and forecast outcomes.
• Identify risks, constraints, and interdependencies across multiple projects; propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all program planning deliverables meet QA requirements and support APIC‑aligned project management.
• Prepare planning inputs for proposals, bids, and client presentations.

**Resource & Portfolio Coordination**

• Select and coordinate resources for each project in collaboration with PMs, DMs, and discipline leads.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Electrical or Mechanical engineering degree with at least 15 year's experience

• Strong background in project planning, scheduling, or PMO roles.
• Experience in Data Center projects or large, complex technical programs.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent scheduling tools.
• Strong influencing skills; able to challenge constructively and drive alignment.
