ABB MOHP BL RP TE ES group in Madrid is seeking a senior R&D leader to steer a power electronics team. You will coach, develop, and align technical work with strategic targets while safeguarding IP and processes. You’ll collaborate with MOHP BL RP stakeholders and drive performance across projects.

You’ll thrive in a hands-on leadership role staying office-based at the Madrid site, delivering tangible impact through talent development, rigorous documentation, and adherence to HSE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with hands-on power electronics validation.
• +5 years' experience leading R&D teams.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, with risk management and incident handling.

• Plans capacity, people, and resources for R&D projects.
• Allocates work/tasks to team members and supervises workload within the team.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees and support them in reaching the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will coach and develop the team. You will also showcase your experience by helping in managing technologies, platforms, and Intellectual Property.

Work model: #LI-Onsite

This role is contributing to the MOHP BL RP in Spain. Main stakeholders are MOHP BL RP

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Serving as a technical resource for the team and providing technical support for internal and external contacts.

Qualifications for the Role

• Electrical Engineering Degree, or equivalent, with real experience in Power Electronics validation and certification
• +5 years of experience in Team Leadership for R&D Projects
• Risk Management and Incident Handling
• Documentation Tools, Standards and Processes
• Process Improvement and Optimization
• Mindset to innovate, be accountable for, and lead improvement
• Fluent (written and spoken) in Spanish and English

Activities are focused on the ABB San Fernando de Henares Test Benches, so it is required to work from the office.
