Search AI Company is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Elasticsearch Performance team to lead architectural and code-level performance efforts. You will drive optimization, profiling, and benchmarking across distributed systems, collaborating with multiple teams to embed performance-first thinking from the start.

You will mentor engineers and design AI-assisted tools to streamline profiling and benchmarking, ensuring scalability in diverse deployment environments.

Formación

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
• Experience profiling and optimizing distributed systems with benchmarking tools (JMH, Flamegraphs).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture and scaling challenges.

Responsabilidades

• Own core performance initiatives from architecture to production, delivering high-impact optimizations.
• Develop performance models for complex distributed systems.
• Drive optimization strategies to keep Elasticsearch performant and scalable.
• Profile system behavior to identify bottlenecks in logging, metrics, vector search, and ES|QL.
• Ensure robust benchmarks and regression detection for stateful and serverless architectures.
• Mentor engineers and promote performance-aware development across teams.
• Lead automation for AI-assisted optimization and benchmarking.
