Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Principal Software Developer to join the Elasticsearch - Search team. You will drive the technical direction, design and implement new search features, and contribute to improving Lucene-based search capabilities.

The role emphasizes fast, scalable, and intuitive software in a distributed environment. You will work with a globally distributed team, focusing on vector search and search relevance, and collaborate across teams and with open source

Formación

• Proven experience with search and vector databases at scale.
• Strong core Java skills and concurrency knowledge.
• Ability to lead technical direction and work autonomously.
• Experience collaborating across distributed teams and open source projects.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development.

Responsabilidades

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to deliver leading search engine.
• Develop new search features and fix bugs; design algorithms and data structures.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team focusing on vector search capabilities.
• Improve search relevance based on questions, instincts, and data.
• Review community issues and manage PRs; communicate asynchronously.
