Shades of Grey HR is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead grid integration and power electronics initiatives for North American clients. You will drive interconnection studies, transmission planning, and inverter-based resource integration while mentoring engineers and supporting business development.

The role requires extensive experience in IBR modeling, grid studies, and senior leadership, with clear communication to utilities and stakeholders. Fully remote within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of U.S. and/or Canadian power-sector experience with senior/leadership responsibilities.
• Strong experience with IBR modeling, grid integration, and complex power-system studies.
• Proficiency in multiple platforms (PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, GE PSLF, ASPEN, MATLAB/Simulink, PowerGEM TARA).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada; visa sponsorship available for the right candidate.

Responsabilités

• Lead complex power-system interconnection, transmission, renewable and storage studies.
• Establish study methodology, assumptions, models, and quality standards.
• Review, validate, and troubleshoot models; act as final technical reviewer.
• Lead RMS and EMT modeling, validation, and IBR performance assessments.
• Present findings to clients, utilities, ISO/RTOs, and stakeholders.
• Manage client relationships, scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Mentor engineers and support proposals, scopes, and business development.
