Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Chief Specialist Engineer for electrical system design and grid integration to lead end-to-end development of utility-scale projects in a global Power Systems context.

The role focuses on cutting-edge design, grid connection strategies, and senior-level collaboration with clients and stakeholders across electrification, offshore wind, data centres and energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong OEM experience and hands-on modelling skills.
• Deep expertise with grid-forming equipment and FACTS (STATCOMs, frequency converters).
• Experience with electrical system design and modelling tools like PowerFactory and PSCAD.
• Hands-on grid compliance and integration experience for utility-scale projects (BESS, renewables, data centres).
• Minimum five years in leading large, complex electrical packages.
• Strong communication and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design from feasibility through construction.
• Develop cutting-edge designs to connect assets to the grid.
• Lead dialogue with TSO/DSO to address requirements in design.
• Oversee engineering for large power installations, including tender facilitation and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management to optimise client outcomes.
• Manage dialogue with client's senior technical leadership.
• Cross-project development of scalable technical concepts.
• Engage in industry groups to stay aligned with standards and trends.
