Job summary

Nscale seeks a Principal Design Manager, Special Projects, to own the design across diverse lab, value engineering, and pilot projects within our data center portfolio. You will define scope, assemble teams, and deliver coordinated design packages, reporting to the VP of Design Management.

You will lead AE and specialist procurement, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and drive design decisions with safety, schedule, and cost as priorities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in design/construction leadership roles.
• Lead projects from problem definition to Construction Administration.
• Experience with labs, pilots, or value engineering programs.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own design for special projects from concept through Construction Administration.
• Define project scope, objectives, and success metrics.
• Manage design schedules, AE teams, and vendor coordination.
• Drive safety, schedule, quality, and cost priorities.
• Coordinate with Design Innovation, Construction, Operations.
