Job summary

Nscale is a data-center focused AI cloud provider deploying hyperscale GPU capacity across Europe and the US. As Controls Director, you will set the standards for BMS/BAS and EPMS, steward SCADA and HMI platforms, and lead a directorate including SCADA, controls, MEP specialists, and commissioning managers across the Americas and beyond.

You will turn the governing principles into enforceable standards, build a team, and report to the VP, Controls & Networks.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, SCADA, or mission-critical facility systems.
• Deep command of BMS/BAS, EPMS, SCADA/HMI, and major PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric) and telemetry architectures like OPC UA and MQTT/Sparkplug B.
• Experience setting and enforcing engineering standards across an organization, including ISA-18.2 alarm management and ISA-101 HMI practice.
• Proven commissioning governance on complex facilities, including FAT/CAT/SAT regimes, readiness gates, turnover, and early-life stability.

Responsibilities

• Own the controls standards library and toolset, including alarm management and HMI conventions.
• Lead commissioning governance and the DMfA program, ensuring separation between commissioning and acceptance.
• Manage Change Management and patch testing for controls and BMS systems, coordinating with CISO and other stakeholders.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multi-site directorate of SCADA, controls, MEP, commissioning, and engineering specialists.
