Job summary

CIC biomaGUNE invites applications for a Laboratory Technician to join a multidisciplinary project investigating new therapeutic strategies for ischemic stroke. Qualifications

• Accreditation and demonstrated experience in handling and caring for laboratory animals.
• Practical experience in experimental animal procedures including preparation, anaesthesia, treatment administration, and post-operative care.
• Experience with non-invasive imaging techniques, preferably preclinical MRI.
• Demonstrated experience in behavioral testing in laboratory animals, especially neurological or cerebrovascular models.
• Ability to follow established protocols and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Handle, monitor and provide routine care for laboratory animals in alignment with ethical regulations.
• Perform and assist with MCAO models of cerebral ischemia.
• Administer experimental treatments and monitor post-operative recovery.
• Plan and conduct behavioral tests to assess neurological deficits and recovery.
• Assist with preclinical MRI examinations including animal preparation and imaging.
• Process and analyze behavioral, imaging and experimental data.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and quality-control procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, figures and presentations.
• Coordinate experimental activities with researchers and imaging staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety and animal welfare guidelines.
• Contribute to day-to-day laboratory operations.
