Siemens Mobility is seeking a Power Electronics System Engineer to join our traction team, shaping the heart of modern regional trains with high‑performance power converters. You will drive design, calculation, and validation to boost efficiency and reliability across state‑of‑the‑art railway systems.

You will collaborate with suppliers and cross‑functional partners, translating requirements into robust specifications, while considering thermal performance and EMI compliance.

Formación

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or similar) required.
  • Experience in design, development and testing of power converters.
  • Ability to select semiconductors and magnetic components for efficiency.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead design and development of advanced power converter topologies for traction applications.
  • Perform dynamic electrical calculations and simulations to ensure performance.
  • Transform requirements into robust design specifications with reliability in mind.

Your Mission as a Power Electronics System Engineer

You will become a vital part of our traction team, where technology meets purpose. In this role, you will drive the creation and calculation of high-performance power converters, directly influencing the efficiency and innovation of our state-of-the-art railway systems.

The Challenges Ahead

Lead the design and development of advanced power converter topologies for traction applications.

Ensure optimal performance by performing dynamic electrical calculations and simulations.

Transform requirements into robust design specifications, ensuring reliability from the start.

Collaborate with partners, managing technical interfaces with suppliers to guarantee quality components.

Optimize and innovate, solving technical issues while considering thermal performance and EMI compliance.

Support the lifecycle, providing technical expertise from the initial concept through to implementation and testing.

What Will Make Your Application Stand Out

A background in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or similar) with a strong passion for power electronics.

Experience in the design, development, and testing of power converters, including inverters, choppers, and rectifiers.

Capability to select appropriate power semiconductors and magnetic components to meet efficiency goals.

Familiarity with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and a curiosity for emerging technologies.

An analytical mindset combined with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments.

Fluency in English to communicate effectively with our global network.
