The University of Barcelona invites applications for a PhD student position in Immunology in the Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology group, focused on tumor immunology. The project is funded by a science ministry grant and will involve studying immunosuppressive mechanisms and tumor microenvironment interactions.

Candidates must hold a biology-related degree, a Master in Immunology, and demonstrate research experience, with excellent English skills and good Spanish or Catalan.

Formación

• Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
• Master in Immunology (or equivalent).
• Research experience in Immunology and/or Cancer research.
• Excellent English and proficiency in Spanish or Catalan.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities; good GPA (>8).
• Training Course for Personnel Handling Experimental Animals for the Functions of Care, Euthanasia, Execution of Procedures, and Design of Projects and Procedures in Rodents.

Responsabilidades

• Analysis of tumour growth in mice using solid tumour and metastatic models.
• Analysis of immune cell populations and their activation state in tumours via flow cytometry and immunofluorescence.
• Analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data.
• Analysis of gene expression by qRT-PCR.
• Mechanistic studies in primary macrophages in vitro.
