The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, IBEC, in Barcelona, invites a motivated predoctoral researcher to develop an in vitro platform for studying T‑cell therapies against glioblastoma. The PhD project will be conducted within the GBBrain‑T framework and linked to Generación de Conocimiento, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Formación

• BSc and MSc in biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomedicine or similar areas.
• Candidates must enter an official doctoral programme in December 2026 (Spain).
• Experience in microfabrication is required.
• Experience in microfluidics and sensors is required.
• Experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques is required.
• Strong commitment to scientific research and excellent academic record.
• Good working knowledge of English.
• Candidates must not yet have a doctoral degree.
• No PhD contract exceeding 12 months by Dec 2026.
• Strong communication, teamwork, proactivity and analytical thinking.
• Willingness to work in a highly multidisciplinary environment.

• Cell co-culture.
• Biomolecular characterization.
• Permeability assays.
• Epifluorescence and confocal microscopy analysis and image processing.
• Data acquisition and processing.
• Sensors and actuators characterization and monitoring.
• T-cell therapies transmigration and efficacy assays.
