Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca is seeking a Pastry Help Cook to join our culinary team. Based at our Mallorca property, you will support pastry chefs by preparing ingredients, baking desserts, decorating and plating, while maintaining hygiene and high quality standards.

You will work closely with the pastry team in a luxurious setting, ensuring consistency, proper inventory management and food safety throughout service.

Qualifications

• High school culinary diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food handling.
• Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience managing inventory and minimizing waste.

Responsibilities

• Ingredient preparation: measure, mix and prepare ingredients for baking.
• Assist in baking pastries, cakes and other desserts.
• Decorate cakes and pastries according to specifications.
• Keep workstations clean and organized and maintain baking equipment.
• Check stock levels and assist in ordering supplies.
• Accurately follow recipes and instructions from the pastry chef.

About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, as the Pastry Help Cook you will support pastry chefs by preparing ingredients, baking desserts, and assisting with decoration and plating. They maintain a clean workstation, follow recipes, help manage inventory, and ensure food safety standards are met.

As Pastry Help Cook , you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:

As Pastry Help Cook, weexpectfrom you:

Experience and education

• High school culinary diploma or equivalent

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food handling.

• Ability to execute and maintain consistency in the daily menu, ensuring all dishes meet high-quality standards.

• Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

• Experience managing inventory, controlling stock levels, and minimizing food waste.

• Capability to monitor the quality of food production and ensure all dishes are prepared according to set standards.

• Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines during peak service hours.

• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and other departments.
