Van der Vlist Iberia is seeking an Operational Assistant to strengthen our team in Barcelona. You will organize national and international transports for heavy loads by road and multimodal modes, coordinating with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

You bring experience in logistics, a degree in business/economics, and a proactive, solution-oriented attitude. Proficiency in Spanish, Catalan and English and MS Office are required. Training provided in Barcelona and The Netherlands.

Formación

• Experience in a logistics service provider.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Economics or Commerce is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish, Catalan and English (written and spoken).

Responsabilidades

• Coordinating and organizing national & international transport.
• Processing information in our IT system and in the customer's systems.
• Informing nationally & internationally involved parties (customer, suppliers, colleagues).
• Maintaining contacts with involved parties about the execution of assignments.
• Investigating alternative transport options to offer the best solution.

Than we are looking for you! To strengthen the operational department within Van der Vlist Iberia, we are looking for an Operational Assistant. Within the Van der Vlist group, Van der Vlist Iberia is engaged in multimodal transport (road, water, rail) and also other services like storage, projects, etc.

For national & international clients as well as our colleagues from the Van der Vlist group, you will be responsible for organizing the transports of large and heavy loads by road and/or multimodal, mainly from/to Spain/Portugal to/from Europe. Day in day out, you use your common sense, knowledge and do-it-yourself mentality when it comes to:

• Coordinating and organizing national & international transport
• Processing information in our own IT system and in the customer's systems
• Informing nationally & internationally involved parties (customer, suppliers, colleagues)
• Maintaining contacts with involved parties about the execution of assignments
• Investigating alternative transport options. That way you always know how to offer the best suitable solution

Profile of the suitable candidate

• Work experience in logistics service provider
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Economics or Commerce is a plus
• Enthusiastic with an operational/commercial attitude
• Flexible and solution-oriented
• Affinity with special and heavy road transport
• Good command of the Spanish, Catalan and English language in word and writing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
• Ability to negotiate effectively with a variety of suppliers
• Enthusiastic team player, but also able to work independently
• Willingness to learn a lot.
