Jobgether is seeking an Open Source Performance Engineer based in Spain to improve system performance, correctness, and efficiency across the stack. You will work on low-level infra, runtimes, databases, and web tech, collaborating with global open source communities and building shared tooling and dashboards.

The role emphasizes data-driven optimization, benchmarking, and strong leadership to elevate engineering standards.

Formación

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Proven initiative or professional experience focused on improving software performance, efficiency, scalability, or correctness.
• Strong experience with Linux; Debian/Ubuntu experience preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally twice per year for company events.

Responsabilidades

• Drive software performance, scalability, efficiency, and correctness within a project.
• Analyze systems and code to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with teams and open source communities globally to resolve technical challenges.
• Develop tools and infrastructure for performance measurement, profiling, benchmarking, and reporting.
• Strengthen testing capabilities and engineering pipelines for observable behaviors.
• Promote performance engineering practices and measurement frameworks.
• Mentor colleagues to grow performance-focused skills and culture.
• Review designs with focus on performance, efficiency, and correctness.
• Contribute to performance optimization across architectures, CPUs, and cloud environments.
• Share insights and best practices to improve performance across products.
