Job summary

Fayara is seeking a Payments Onboarding Specialist to support merchant onboarding with payment providers, acquirers, banks, and gateways. You will coordinate applications from preparation to go-live, manage provider communications, and ensure documentation accuracy in a fast-growing environment.

The role requires 1–3 years in payments/KYC, strong Excel skills, and fluent English. It is a full-time, hybrid role based in Madrid with a competitive salary and 22+ leave days.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in payments, acquiring, PSPs, merchant operations, onboarding, or KYC.
• Familiarity with acquirers, banks, payment gateways, and alternative payment providers.
• Working knowledge of merchant onboarding requirements and corporate documentation.
• Ability to prepare, review, and track accurate, complete application packages.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and OneDrive.
• Experience with payment provider onboarding portals is an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential, any other languages are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage merchant onboarding with acquirers, banks, gateways and alternative payment providers: prepare and submit applications and handle follow-up through to approval and go-live.
• Day-to-day contact for payment providers on onboarding, compliance reviews and account status.
• Maintain KYC and corporate documentation for each group entity with the corporate service providers, and answer periodic compliance reviews from existing providers.
• Keep a tracker of every application and compliance review: owner, status, next action and outstanding documents.
• Gather what providers ask for from internal teams, such as website, technical and financial information, and check it before submission.
• Report onboarding and compliance review status to management.
• Support the payments function with ad hoc projects such as new payment method set-up.
• Any other duties relevant to the role.

Role Overview:

The Payments Onboarding Specialist will support Fayara Group’s growth by managing merchant and entity onboarding with payment service providers, acquirers, banks, gateways, and alternative payment providers.

Responsibilities include coordinating applications from preparation to approval and go-live, managing provider communications, ensuring accurate documentation, and proactively tracking outstanding requirements.

The role also supports corporate and KYC documentation maintenance, periodic compliance reviews, and the ongoing good standing of payment accounts.

The ideal candidate is organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple processes in a fast-paced, growing environment. This is a full time employment role, with 5 days from the office the first 6 months and Hybrid – 4 days from the office after probation.

Key Responsilbilities:

What We're Looking For:

• Follows up on outstanding items independently and escalates issues early

• Takes responsibility for tasks and drives processes through to completion with minimal supervision

• Hands-on, adaptable, eager to grow with Fayara Group, and authorised to work in the Spain.

• Salary: €35,000 - €40,000 Gross Annually
