Job summary

AVL Iberica in Valladolid is seeking a motivated Simulation Engineer to support the development of electrified powertrains. You will perform NVH simulations, develop models for electric motors and e-drive components, and analyse vibration and acoustics using CAE tools.

The role requires a strong NVH background, experience with CAE software (EXCITE, ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, Actran, Simcenter 3D or equivalent), and proficiency in Python or MATLAB. Fluent Spanish and English are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, automotive engineering or computer science.
• Strong background in NVH engineering and CAE simulation.
• Experience with electric motors, e-drive systems, or electrified powertrains.
• Knowledge of FEA, modal analysis, harmonic response, and vibro-acoustic simulations.
• Experience with CAE tools (EXCITE, ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, Actran, Simcenter 3D or equivalent).
• Good understanding of mechanical dynamics, structural vibration, and acoustics.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages for automation.
• Fluent Spanish and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform NVH simulations and virtual assessments of electric powertrain systems.
• Develop and validate simulation models for electric motors, gearboxes, and e-drive systems.
• Analyse vibration, acoustic, and structural behaviour using CAE tools.
• Support root-cause analysis of NVH issues and propose optimization measures.
• Deliver simulation results on a variety of hybrid powertrains in the context of new or existing vehicles/platforms.
• Ownership on the model development, raw data management and control strategy adaptation/integration.
• Prepare written and oral presentation material for non-technical audiences, conveying key findings.
• Identify opportunities where simulation activities could bring added value to other business areas.

We are looking for a motivated Simulation Engineer to join our engineering team and support the development of next-generation electrified powertrains. The final candidate will be responsible for the simulation, analysis, and optimization of Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) performance of electric drive systems, with a particular focus on electric motors, transmissions, and e-drive components.

• Perform NVH simulations and virtual assessments of electric powertrain systems.
• Develop and validate simulation models for electric motors, gearboxes, and e-drive systems.
• Analyse vibration, acoustic, and structural behaviour using CAE tools.
• Support root-cause analysis of NVH issues and propose optimization measures.
• Delivering simulation results on a variety of hybrid powertrains in the context of new or existing vehicles/platforms.
• Ownership on the model development, associated raw data management and control strategy adaption/integration.
• Preparing written and oral presentation material for non-technical audiences, conveying key findings for a variety of tasks to be simulated
• Identifying opportunities where simulation activities could bring added value to other business area

Profile Description

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Automotive Engineering or Computer science.
• Strong background in NVH engineering and CAE simulation.
• Experience with electric motors, e-drive systems, or electrified powertrains.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA), modal analysis, harmonic response, and vibro-acoustic simulations.
• Experience with CAE tools, preferable EXCITE. ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, Actran, Simcenter 3D, or equivalent is a plus.
• Good understanding of mechanical dynamics, structural vibration, and acoustics.
• Well experienced in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages for automation and data processing.
• Fluent Spanish and English communication skills
