Job summary

AVL Iberica is expanding its Calibration team in Valladolid, Spain, seeking engineers to contribute to development and validation of hybrid powertrain systems. The role involves work in system validation, powertrain debug, and calibration data management across gasoline-hybrid platforms.

You will work with senior calibration engineers on engine and vehicle calibration, with emphasis on base engine calibration, emissions, diagnostics and driveability, using tools like ETAS INCA and AVL/Vector

Qualifications

• Mechanical or automotive engineering degree required; master's degree desirable.
• Understanding of internal combustion engines and power electronics.
• Experience with ETAS INCA, AVL Concerto, AVL Creta, Vector CANalyzer, DDT2000, Matlab/Simulink.
• English and Spanish required; French is a plus.
• Driving Licence B and minimum 1 year calibration experience.

Responsibilities

• Execution of validation plans to verify correct behavior of powertrain components.
• Support calibration teams to ensure prototype and customer vehicles remain operational.
• Calibration data management, assembly and validation of calibrations.

We offer several opportunities within our growing workgroup, covering different areas of calibration, validation and powertrain development.

Areas where you can contribute

Depending on your experience and interests, you may be involved in:

System Validation

• Execution of validation plans to verify the correct behavior of powertrain components under failure conditions.

Powertrain Debug

• Support production, end‑of‑line, dealerships and calibration teams to ensure prototype and customer vehicles remain fully operational.

Calibration Data Management

• Assembly, validation and industrialization of calibrations related to powertrain components.

Engine & Vehicle Calibration

• Planning and performing tests in engine test benches and vehicles focused on:
  • Base engine calibration
  • Emissions
  • Diagnostics
  • Driveability
• Working alongside junior and senior calibration engineers to coordinate activities and ensure successful calibration development.
• Mainly gasoline hybrid platforms.
• Calibration of internal combustion engines and high‑voltage components.

Education
