ALBA Synchrotron invites a postdoctoral researcher to lead data-analysis activities for the IMAGiC project. You will develop and apply pipelines to extract materials-science insights from multimodal X-ray and electron data, leveraging Python, AI/ML and reproducible software practices.

You will collaborate with beamline scientists, JEMCA, and external partners, reporting to the Methodology Group and contributing to open-source releases and project deliverables.

Formación

• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong data-analysis and software development experience.
• Experience with Python, AI/ML methods and scientific software tools.

Responsabilidades

• Analyse multimodal datasets from IMAGiC campaigns combining X-ray diffraction with spectroscopy, tomography and 4D-STEM.
• Develop data-analysis methods and scientific software for reduction, processing and quantitative analysis.
• Create reusable analysis pipelines following FAIR principles and deploy on HPC resources.
• Correlate results with processing parameters and simulations to support project objectives.
• Disseminate results via publications, talks and open-source software releases; contribute to ALBA’s Methodology Group.
• Support data-acquisition campaigns and collaborate with project partners and external facilities.
