UNOPS - United Nations Office for Project Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the rehabilitation of potable water and irrigation infrastructure in Syria. You will provide design review, supervision, testing, commissioning and handover, contributing to resilient infrastructure outcomes.

The role requires 2+ years in mechanical, plumbing and pumping systems, with AutoCAD proficiency and knowledge of HAP software.

Formación

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
• License or professional certification in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years in mechanical, firefighting and plumbing systems design and supervision.
• Experience with rehabilitation projects or construction is preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit and Google Workspace is an asset.
• Experience with pumps, pumping stations, potable water and irrigation systems.
• UN/NGO experience and familiarity with the Syrian context are advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and supervise installation of mechanical systems for water and irrigation infrastructure.
• Assist procurement of mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Design and review mechanical installations including pumps, boreholes, pipework and valves.
• Review mechanical and plumbing services in buildings (HVAC, ventilation, safety, water systems).
• Assist in preparing tender documents and BOQs; evaluate technical submissions.
• Produce design calculations, drawings and scope of works.
• Review pump sizing, operating requirements and ensure compatibility with civil/electrical systems.
• Join site inspections and assist QA/QC activities; support handover to clients.
