UNOPS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to infrastructure and rehabilitation projects within a UN framework in challenging environments. You will support mechanical and plumbing engineering aspects across design, review, and supervision, applying standard procedures and preparing inputs for reports.

The role requires collaboration with project teams, QA/QC activities, and engagement with partners to ensure compliance with international codes and client needs.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
• License/Board Certification in Mechanical Engineering (asset).
• 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, supervision and/or construction for medium- to large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsabilidades

• Support coordination and monitoring of mechanical systems for potable water supply and irrigation infrastructure.
• Provide technical inputs to procurement of mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Prepare and contribute to design and review of mechanical installations including pumps, boreholes, piping, valves, and fittings.
• Design and review mechanical services for buildings (Ventilation, Fire safety, HVAC, ducting, sanitary systems).
• Assist in preparing tender documents (specifications, BOQs, data sheets, rates).
• Prepare calculations and drawings; assist in pump sizing and selection; review contractor submittals.
