Job summary

Floox, part of Premium PSU, seeks an experienced Mechanical Design engineer to lead housing and chassis design for EV chargers. You will guide products from concept through industrialization, ensuring manufacturability and quality, while supporting installation manuals and production documentation.

Qualifications

• Higher Vocational Training or a degree in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Design is required or valid.
• Demonstrable experience with 3D parametric design software; Solid Edge is especially valued.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining) and material selection.
• Ability to read and produce technical documentation (drawings, tolerances, standards).
• Autonomy to manage day-to-day tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient English for technical documentation and supplier communication.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of housings, chassis, and subassemblies for EV chargers using parametric design software.
• Develop products from concept to industrialization: prototyping, validation, and production transfer.
• Prepare and maintain drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
• Create and update installation and product manuals.
• Provide technical production support to resolve day-to-day issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers for mechanical parts manufacturing.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, quality, and production teams for full integration.
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues in production or in the field.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and designs.

The selected candidate will lead the mechanical development of the product, from concept through industrialization, ensuring that solutions are robust, manufacturable, and consistent with Floox's quality standards. In addition to this mechanical component, they will provide support in creating installation and product manuals, as well as support to production.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of housings, chassis, and subassemblies for EV chargers using parametric design software (Solid Edge).
• Product development from concept to industrialization: prototyping, validation, laboratory certifications, and transfer to production.
• Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation (drawings, BOM, specifications).
• Creation and updating of installation and product manuals.
• Technical support to production in resolving day-to-day issues.
• Coordination with suppliers for the manufacturing of mechanical parts (machining, sheet metal, etc.).
• Close collaboration with the electronics, software, quality, and production teams to ensure full product integration.
• Analysis and resolution of mechanical issues detected in production or in the field.
• Active contribution to the continuous improvement of existing processes and designs.
• Higher Vocational Training (Técnico Superior/FP) in Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, or similar (a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is also valid).
• Demonstrable experience with 3D parametric design software; hands-on experience with Solid Edge (Siemens) is especially valued.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining) and material selection.
• Ability to interpret and produce technical documentation (drawings, tolerances, applicable standards).
• Genuine autonomy in managing day-to-day work: able to prioritize, organize, and drive tasks forward without constant supervision.
• Dynamic, results-driven profile with a willingness to contribute beyond strictly assigned tasks.
• English proficiency sufficient to work with technical documentation and international suppliers.
