Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Managing AI Architect / Principal AI Architect in Barcelona to own the AI architecture for its largest client programmes, ensuring secure, scalable and cost-efficient solutions aligned with business outcomes across AI, Generative AI and Agentic AI.

You will lead architecture across foundation models, data platforms, cloud and MLOps, and advise CIOs and senior stakeholders on strategy, platform choices, and roadmaps in a global, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Solution, Enterprise, Platform or Cloud Architecture.
• Designing and delivering AI/ML, Generative AI or Agentic AI in production.
• Proven experience owning complex enterprise architecture programmes and governing decisions.
• Strong client-facing consulting with executive stakeholders.

• Own the AI architecture for large client programmes from pursuit to production.
• Lead end-to-end architecture across foundation models, RAG, data platforms and MLOps/LLMOps.
• Advise on AI strategy, platform selection and roadmaps across Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Establish reference architectures, governance and guardrails for security and Responsible AI.
• Drive architecture through delivery, ensuring production readiness and cost control.
• Mentor architects and contribute to thought leadership and alliances.

Your Role

Own the AI architecture for Capgemini's largest and most strategic client programmes. As a Managing AI Architect / Principal AI Architect, you will be accountable for the architecture of complex, multi-workstream AI, Generative AI and Agentic AI programmes from pursuit through to production, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, cost-effective and aligned to measurable business outcomes.

• Own end-to-end AI architecture across foundation models, RAG and knowledge systems, AI agents and orchestration, data and integration platforms, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, and MLOps/LLMOps capabilities.
• Lead AI solution shaping for strategic pursuits, defining architecture, delivery approaches, effort estimations, risks, differentiators and commercial assumptions.
• Advise CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and senior business stakeholders on AI strategy, platform selection and enterprise AI roadmaps across Azure, AWS, GCP and the broader AI ecosystem.
• Act as Design Authority, establishing reference architectures, governance standards and guardrails covering security, privacy, Responsible AI and regulatory compliance.
• Lead architecture through delivery, including detailed design, implementation assurance, production readiness, operational transition and remediation of architecture deviations.
• Drive measurable business outcomes by linking architecture decisions to value realisation while applying FinOps principles to optimise AI platform and model costs.
• Mentor and develop architects, create reusable assets and reference architectures, and contribute to Capgemini thought leadership and alliance development.

Your Skills and Experience Essential

• experienced in Solution, Enterprise, Platform or Cloud Architecture.
• designing and delivering AI/ML, Generative AI or Agentic AI solutions in production environments.
• Proven experience owning complex enterprise architecture programmes and governing architecture decisions.
• Strong client-facing consulting experience with executive-level stakeholder engagement.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one hyperscaler AI ecosystem (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Demonstrated success in solution shaping, large-scale pursuits and delivery governance.
• Strong understanding of security, data architecture, integration patterns and Responsible AI principles.

Desirable

• Experience across multiple hyperscaler platforms.
• Experience delivering solutions within regulated industries.
• TOGAF and/or hyperscaler architecture certifications.
• Experience developing reusable assets, accelerators and reference architectures.
• Recognised thought leadership through publications, patents, speaking engagements or industry events.
• Knowledge of modern AI frameworks, engineering tooling and enterprise data platforms.
