Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Madrid is seeking an Underwriter Surety to join our growing European team. You will balance risk underwriting with client‑facing responsibilities, managing relations with corporates and brokers across Spain, Portugal and beyond.

You will assess credit and transactional risks, develop your client portfolio, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive high‑quality submissions and decisions.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in banks, surety insurers or financial institutions with exposure to credit and guarantee products.
• Strong understanding of credit risks, particularly in relation to surety/guarantee structures.
• Proven analytical and decision‑making skills for assessing complex credit and transactional risks.
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Spanish native speaker with proficiency in English (written and verbal) is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct risk assessments for new and existing clients, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and high client satisfaction.
• Develop and manage your own client portfolio across Iberia and Europe, identifying new business opportunities.
• Analyse and evaluate credit and transactional risks with internal stakeholders, applying due diligence.
• Approve transactions within own authority levels and prepare submissions for committees.
• Build and maintain strong client and broker relationships through proactive engagement.
• Support Senior Underwriters with execution and monitoring of complex transactions and key accounts.
• Conduct market analysis to identify changes in underwriting, market and legal landscape and adapt strategies.
• Collaborate with the European Surety team to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement.
