Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Leisure Centre Operations Manager for a key community facility in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will oversee daily operations, staff, safety, programming and budgeting to deliver high-quality services.

The role requires strong leadership, a proactive approach and commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles in the local community. On-site work with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years in operations management, preferably leisure or sports facility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and risk management principles.
• Proficient with software for operations, scheduling and membership management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of daily centre operations and service delivery.
• Supervise, train and motivate staff including receptionists, instructors and maintenance.
• Oversee facility maintenance, cleaning and safety procedures.
• Develop and implement diverse leisure programs for the community.
• Manage budgets, control expenses and explore revenue opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, licensing and safety regulations.
• Handle customer inquiries, feedback and complaints promptly.
• Manage membership systems, bookings and access control.
• Build relationships with community stakeholders.
