Hitachi Energy Spain, S.A.U. is seeking a Lead & Commissioning Engineer (Protection & Control) to guide engineering efforts on medium-to-high complexity grid automation projects in Madrid.

The role requires frequent travel to customer sites for successful project delivery and stakeholder alignment. You will serve as the technical lead, develop base designs for substation automation and protection schemes, and coordinate cross-disciplinary activities across the project lifecycle.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in engineering, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage substation protection systems.
• Experience with Hitachi Energy Relion protection relays, IEC 61850-based architectures, and integration of protection schemes.
• Native-level Spanish proficiency; English proficiency at C1 or higher.
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites and project locations.

• Serve as the technical lead and design authority for engineering deliverables across grid automation projects.
• Develop base designs for substation automation, control, and protection systems.
• Coordinate all technical activities through the project lifecycle and review technical documentation.
