Clarivate seeks a Lead Software Engineer - AI Product development in Barcelona to join the AI Engineering team. You will work on AI-powered software using Python, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), microservices, and LLM-based applications.

The role involves shaping AI platform initiatives, designing scalable backend services, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable AI-driven solutions in a hybrid, Barcelona-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, incl. 4 years developing backend systems in Python (APIs, microservices, ETL pipelines).
• At least 5 years of experience in cross-functional, agile teams, collaborating with Product, Cloud Ops, Architecture, Engineering, and SMEs.
• At least 3 years of experience with LLMs or agentic AI applications, with understanding of reliability challenges.

Responsabilités

• Scope and shape AI platform initiatives for LS&H products from concept to implementation.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services (APIs, microservices, ETL) in Azure or AWS.
• Translate ideas and requirements into high-quality, reliable code and proofs-of-concept.
• Collaborate with Cloud Ops, Solution Architecture, Product Engineering, and SMEs.
• Build and iterate LLM-based or agentic AI applications focusing on reliability and quality.
• Evaluate and integrate with applications written in other languages (e.g., Java, Typescript).
• Lead the technical approach on assigned work from design through implementation.
• Test, validate, and continuously improve solutions with unit tests and automation.
• Progress projects from concept to prototype and contribute to production-ready plans.
• Work in an agile, fast-paced environment with continuous improvement.
