Clarivate seeks a Lead Software Engineer - AI Product development for its Cortellis team in Barcelona. You will own end-to-end delivery, architect scalable backend and frontend features, and integrate GenAI capabilities to power a mission-critical platform.

You will collaborate with UX and distributed teams to ensure reliable AI integrations, production readiness, and high-quality outcomes while mentoring peers and driving scalable AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years backend development experience (Java 11/17, Spring Boot, microservices).
• 6+ years frontend experience (Angular, Node.js) in full-stack development.
• 3+ years integrating AI capabilities (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI), including prompt engineering and AI assistants.
• Hands-on experience designing RAG pipelines, embeddings, and retrieval orchestration.
• Experience delivering end-to-end product features with CI/CD, monitoring, and cloud platforms (AWS or equivalent).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval systems (Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
• Knowledge of Responsible AI practices and experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, feature flags).
• Understanding of platform thinking and reusable AI services.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend features from architecture to production.
• Build and maintain microservices and APIs using Java and Node.js, ensuring performance and security.
• Own end-to-end product features from concept through rollout and iterative improvement.
• Integrate AI capabilities, including LLM features, RAG patterns, and agent workflows.
• Ensure AI solutions are robust and production-ready by improving outputs and performance.
• Apply prompt engineering best practices and contribute to reliable AI-enabled systems.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and domain experts to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improve system scalability.
• Mentor other engineers to raise engineering excellence.
