Admiral Seguros in Sevilla is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to lead Spain’s labour relations activities and support EU Global Mobility initiatives. You will manage works councils, interpret CLAs, ensure compliance with Spanish labour law, advise HR BPs, and coordinate with external lawyers.

The role requires a Law or Labour Relations degree, at least 3 years of experience in Spain, fluent Spanish, and residence in Spain.

• Design and deliver trainings for HR BPs and managers on labour law matters.
• Coordinate external lawyers, monitor litigation progress and budgets.
• Oversee EU Global Mobility: engage Tax, Finance, payroll teams; ensure cross-border compliance.
• Maintain registers for severance packages and litigation documents.

This role will manage the labour relation activities (individual and collective labour law) in Spain at Admiral Seguros, a company of approx. 700 employees based in Spain.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have global mobility skills and will speak fluent English in order to manage a medium size community of expats and cross border workers.

Key Objectives

• Keep smooth and legally compliant relationships with two spanish works councils existing at Admiral Seguros
• Support HR BPs in all type of individual labour related questions and procedures (e.g. dismissals, Collective Labour Agreement interpretation, family related rights etc)
• Global Mobility: Apply the existing internal policies to the expat and cross border community of workers and engage specialized stakeholders whenever necessary (legal, tax, group global mobility) assuring solutions in line with internal policies and applicable laws. Keep an oversight that all Global Mobility related activities in Spain, France and Italy are accomplished and collaborate for that with local payroll teams of the mentioned countries.

Main Responsibilities

• Labor Relations Spain
• Works Council (“WC”) management: Participates in WC meetings, manages its agenda and all communications towards WCs in alignment with the Local Head of People and the Head of Labour Relations for Europe.
• Collective Labour Agreements (“ CLA”): Interpret and apply the applicable CLAs and monitor changes affecting them.
• Compliance with Spanish labour laws: Makes sure that new labour laws applicable in Spain are compiled with.
• Individual labour law assessment: Provides labour law advice on day-to-day questions from the local rewarding team the HR BPs and the business.
• Collective labour law: Provide labour law related advice to the business in restructurations, change in working methods, family related rights to be respected etc in alignment with the Local Head of People and the Head of Labour Relations for Europe.
• Trainings: Design and implement trainings for HR BPs and managers on key labour law matters.
• Labour Inspection: Primary point of contact in case of occurrence.
• Litigation:
• Negotiate costs of individual dismissals up to the level of Manager, and for managers in alignment with the Head of EU Labour Relations.
• Keep a register of severance packages
• Keep an up to date register of all legal documents from all labour law related litigations
• Coordinates external lawyers: Externalize trials, monitors its advances, externalize complex labour law related questions, monitors budget
• EU Global Mobility:
• Coordinate and engage responsible departments (Tax, Group global, Labour Relations EU, finance, local payroll teams) so that all compliance related actions related to employees in cross border forms or employment are in place and implemented on time.
• Keep an organized register of all documentation needed in case of authority controls with respect to: a) each employee in cross border forms of employment and b) overarching documents
• Aligns with the Group Mobility function in UK on managing relationships with external providers and implementation of internal group wide policies

Requirements

• Must have:
• Law or Labour Relations related Degree (acquired in Spain as the role is primarily focused in spanish labour law)
• At least 3 years experience in managing Labour Relations in Spain
• Fluent spanish language
• Residence in Spain
• Nice to have:
• Experience in Global Mobility matters
• Previous experience in the insurance sector
