Job summary

BME | Bolsas y Mercados Españoles in Madrid is seeking an experienced engineer to operate Kong in production and broaden technical ownership. You will automate onboarding, build self-service paths for policy delivery, and ensure secure, observable connectivity to AI services.

Qualifications

Experience operating an API gateway in production.
Strong tooling and automation mindset with IaC and CI/CD.
Hands-on Kubernetes/OpenShift in cloud environments.
Knowledge of security, TLS, certificates and identity standards.

Responsibilities

Operate and continuously improve the Kong API Gateway in production across cloud environments.
Design and implement automation and self-service capabilities for onboarding and policy delivery.
Develop platform services using APIs, GitOps, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Establish observability with metrics, logs and traces using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana.
Handle incidents, perform root-cause analysis and drive durable improvements.
Share on-call responsibility for the platform.
