Job summary

Nanological, a Madrid-based deep-tech company developing rapid diagnostic technologies for bloodstream infections, is seeking a Junior R&D Experimental Engineer/Scientist to work on the experimental development, characterization and optimization of our diagnostic platform. This hands-on role suits someone early in their career with a strong experimental background in physics or engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong experimental background in physics or engineering.
• Backgrounds may include Physics, Engineering, Nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with experimental setups, scientific instrumentation, sensors, measurement systems or lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, assembling and operating experimental setups.
• Running experiments involving optical, mechanical and fluidic systems.
• Supporting calibration, verification and optimization of prototypes.
• Following experimental protocols and helping improve them as technology evolves.
• Recording experimental conditions and results in a structured and reproducible way.
• Analyzing experimental data and identifying trends, inconsistencies or anomalies.
• Troubleshooting experiments and investigating unexpected system behavior.
• Collaborating with scientists and engineers to improve the system based on results.
• Supporting day-to-day operation and organization of the R&D laboratory.
