Job summary

Openchip & Software Technologies S.L. is seeking a compiler-focused engineer to extend LLVM/MLIR/GCC-based toolchains for novel hardware accelerators in Barcelona. You will work across ML/AI and hardware teams to map workloads to features and contribute to end-to-end compiler pipelines.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, 1–4 years’ experience with compiler frameworks, and a proactive, collaborative mindset in a hybrid work setup. Flexible schedule and competitive compensation offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in the relevant field (1-4yr).
• Experience with compiler frameworks (e.g., LLVM, MLIR, GCC...).
• Experience with computation and parallelism APIs (CUDA, OpenAcc, OpenCL, OpenML, SYCL...).
• Solid knowledge of the C and C++ programming languages.
• Experience with code benchmarking, debugging, profiling, and tracing.
• Experience with standard tools for source control (git), continuous integration, task management (Jira).

Responsibilities

• Make independent technical contributions to help their team deliver its commitments.
• Write code to extend compiler frameworks (e.g., GCC, LLVM), enabling usage of novel hardware features and acceleration, and improving the quality of code generated for these targets.
• Interact with ML/AI and hardware teams, connecting requirements and offerings, influencing hardware/software co-design.
• Collaborate with colleagues through code reviews, bug triaging, design documents, and more.
• Contribute to shared team responsibilities (CI failure triaging, documentation, code fixits, rotations...).
