Job summary

Openchip is building exciting new RISC-V chips with HPC and AI acceleration. As engineering lead, you will provide technical direction, mentor junior developers, and drive innovation while extending compiler frameworks like LLVM to enable hardware features and accelerators, bringing visible improvements to end users.

You will collaborate with ML/AI and hardware teams to map workloads to hardware features, review artifacts for quality, and guide team delivery in a hybrid Barcelona-based

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of experience in the field.
• Experience with compiler frameworks (LLVM/MLIR/GCC).
• Experience with computation and parallelism APIs (CUDA/OpenCL/SYCL).
• Strong knowledge of C and C++.
• Experience with benchmarking, debugging, profiling, and tracing.
• Experience with Git and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Understand the technical landscape of the project and make decisions.
• Provide technical direction and mentor junior developers.
• Write code to extend compiler frameworks (LLVM, MLIR, GCC) enabling novel hardware features and acceleration.
• Work with ML/AI and hardware teams to influence hardware/software co-design.
• Review team artifacts for correctness and quality.
• Identify opportunities for code and process improvements.
• Collaborate with program managers for task and deliverable tracking.
• Communicate technical topics to less technical parts of the organization.
