Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC – A&H Group in Barcelona seeks a Junior Accountant to join the Accounts Payable team. You will support the financial close, process supplier invoices, and prepare reconciliations in a collaborative finance environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, is fluent in Spanish and English, and has experience with ERP systems. Prior AP exposure is a plus, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in MS Office package, especially Excel.
• Fluent in Spanish, English (advanced level).
• Experience using ERP Systems.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Junior Accountant or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Manage the AP general mailbox, ensuring efficient handling of incoming queries and documentation.
• Support monthly close activities, including adjustments and provisions.
• Assist in posting financial transactions to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation for balance sheet accounts and bank accounts.
• Processing and booking invoices into the expense management platform.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits.
• Prepare bank remittances and payments to suppliers.
• Assist with the documentation and filing of quarterly and annual filings.
• Assist in preparing internal and external financial reports and variance analysis.
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain/update vendor's data in the AP module.
• Review expense reports.
• Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems.

Junior Accountant / Accounts Payable Description:

As a Junior Accountant, based in our Barcelona office, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals. You will directly report to the Accounts Payable Manager of TME Spanish branch. TME Finance Department's mission is to cover the sign off of all financial and management accounts, long-term business planning and the ongoing development of the financial systems and processes. We are seeking an efficient, flexible, and diligent Junior Accountant to support the accurate processing of financial data, reconciliations, and internal reporting.
