Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking a Junior Accountant based in our Barcelona office to join the Accounts Payable team. You will support monthly close activities, process invoices, manage reconciliations, and assist with internal and external audits under the AP Manager.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Business Administration, strong Excel skills, fluency in Spanish and advanced English, experience with ERP systems, and at least one year in a junior accounting role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Fluent in Spanish and advanced English.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a junior accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Manage the AP general mailbox, ensuring efficient handling of incoming queries and documentation.
• Support monthly close activities, including adjustments and provisions.
• Assist in posting financial transactions to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation for balance sheet accounts and bank accounts.
• Processing and booking invoices into the expense management platform.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Prepare bank remittances and payments to suppliers.
• Assist in preparing internal and external financial reports and variance analysis.
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain/update vendor’s data in the AP module.
• Review expense reports.
• Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems.
• Support with special projects as needed.

Junior Accountant / Accounts Payable

Description:

As a Junior Accountant, based in our Barcelona office, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals. You will directly report to the Accounts Payable Manager of TME Spanish branch. TME Finance Department’s mission is to cover the sign off of all financial and management accounts, long-term business planning and the ongoing development of the financial systems and processes. We are seeking an efficient, flexible, and diligent Junior Accountant to support the accurate processing of financial data, reconciliations, and internal reporting.

Requirements:
