Job summary

Kaplan Languages Group in Barcelona is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance department. You will support the Accountant Manager and the Barcelona accounting team with daily accounting tasks, invoicing, and intercompany activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, 3–4 years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills. Experience in a large corporate environment is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, accounting modules preferred.
• 3–4 years of accounting experience, with knowledge of balance sheet and P&L.
• Previous experience in a large corporation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices on Basware and allocate them per reports.
• Assist in preparing monthly shared services recharges and invoicing related parties.
• Process invoices from related parties and support intercompany reconciliations.
• Control credit card expenses and related accruals.
• Assist with fixed asset register, depreciation, prepayments and accruals.
• Support balance sheet activities and monthly reviews.
• Provide ad-hoc assistance to senior team members as needed.

Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance department, you will be a part of KLG’s Barcelona-based accounting team, providing accounting support to the Accountant Manager.

Main responsibilities include:

• Review of invoices on Basware
• Invoice allocations per reports
• Provide assistance in preparing shared services recharges monthly and issue invoices to related parties
• Provide assistance in processing invoices from related parties
• Provide support with intercompany reconciliations
• Control of Credit cards expenses claims as well as the related monthly accruals.
• Provide assistance with fixed asset register and depreciation
• Provide assistance with prepayments
• Provide assistance with accruals
• Provide assistance with balance sheet (suspense clear up, payables balance reviews, etc)
• Providing ad-hoc support when required by senior members of the team

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably inclusive of accounting modules
• 3-4 years of Accounting experience, some knowledge in BS & P&L
• Previous experience working for large corporation
