Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Madrid is seeking an IT/OT System Engineer to join a growing Operations Center of Excellence delivering HVDC control systems.

You will contribute to design, integration, deployment and cybersecurity of HMI, SCADA and automation platforms, collaborating with a global team and engaging with customers.

This role provides a dynamic environment with continuous learning and opportunities to influence grid modernization projects.

Formación

• A university degree in a technical area (CS, Automation or related).
• Experience with HMI design and testing, Aveva, Micro SCADA or similar.
• Experience in SCADA, automation design and testing; IEC standards or similar and scripting.

Responsabilidades

• Be part of IT/OT System team for system, network and cybersecurity design in HVDC projects.
• Build complete infrastructure of networks and systems supporting operations with defined cybersecurity levels.
• Mentor junior associates and drive knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement.

Are you ready to shape the future of energy? At Hitachi Energy, we are establishing and developing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU).

We are looking for IT/OT System Engineer to join Hitachi Energy in Spain! You will be part of a global team of talented engineers tasked with deploying and securing the next generation of control systems within HVDC. You will be responsible for integrating and implementing features aligning with customer- and market requirements. In this position you will serve as a key resource in the assigned area contributing to deployments of the MACH control platform in large HVDC project deliveries at Hitachi Energy.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Be part of a IT/OT System team for system, network, and cybersecurity design and implementations in HVDC projects, focus OT - HMI, SCADA, automation part.


• Building complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operations and ensuring systems and networks contain defined levels of cybersecurity.


• Upon level of experience, mentoring junior associates and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives.


• Upon level of experience, actively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement.

Your background

• A university degree within a relevant technical area, preferably Computer science, Automation or other relevant education or experience.


• Experience in HMI (human machine interface) design and testing, Aveva platform, Micro Scada or similar.


• Experience in SCADA, automation design and testing, IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850 or similar along with scripting languages and automation technologies.


• Experience with databases and high-availability solutions, as well as network equipment as firewalls, switches, GPS clocks and redundant network designs and protocols.


• Good verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussions.


• Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems, AD and any security relevant systems is meritorious.
