We use our Flywire Advantage - the combination of our next-gen payments platform, proprietary payment network and vertical specific software, to help our clients get paid, and help their customers pay with ease - no matter where they are in the world.

What more do we need to truly be unstoppable? Perhaps, that is you!

Who We Are

Flywire is a global payments enablement and software company, founded more than a decade ago to solve high-stakes, high-value payments. We’ve scaled into new regions and industry verticals and expanded our product offerings to deliver meaningful value to our clients around the world.

Today we support more than 5,100 clients across the global education, healthcare, travel & B2B industries, with diverse payment methods across 240 countries & territories and more than 140 currencies.

With over 1,400+ global FlyMates, representing more than 40 nationalities, and in 15 offices world-wide, we’re looking for FlyMates to join the next stage of our journey as we continue to grow.

The Opportunity

We, at Flywire, are looking for an IT Cloud Engineer to join our team in Spain with a solid background in cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code (IaC). You will help design, implement, and improve Flywire's internal cloud infrastructure, working alongside senior engineers to grow your expertise in cloud services, automation, and security while contributing to real production systems from day one.

You will be joining a team in charge of designing new infrastructure functionalities and improving current capabilities. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, pragmatic design, and building quality code is essential. You'll receive close mentoring while taking ownership of increasingly complex tasks.

What You’ll Do
  • Build, maintain, and improve reusable, reliable infrastructure code alongside the team.
  • Write code and scripts to automate operational tasks and implement automation solutions, using both traditional scripting and AI-assisted / agentic coding tools.
  • Support the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Develop and maintain identity automation processes (including Okta Workflows).
  • Monitor infrastructure health and help build observability into new and existing services.
  • Work collaboratively on projects with teams across the globe.
  • Contribute to the security posture of the infrastructure you help build and operate.
  • Grow into a mentoring role as your expertise develops.
Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • +2 years of experience in a similar Cloud, IT Infrastructure, or DevOps engineering role.
  • Hands‑on experience or working knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
  • Solid experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure provisioning tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Familiarity with configuration management, deployment, and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible).
  • Coding and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go, or PowerShell) applied to building automation solutions, not just one-off scripts.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and understanding of deployment workflows.
  • Understanding of container technologies (Docker).
  • Experience with Git or other similar version control systems.
  • Working knowledge of observability and monitoring practices (metrics, logs, alerting) and willingness to build dashboards and runbooks.
  • Understanding of core security practices: secrets management, least-privilege access, encryption at rest/in transit.
  • Proficiency in English, as it is our primary collaboration language.
Nice To Have
  • Experience with, or strong interest in, Okta Workflows or similar low-code automation/orchestration tools.
  • Exposure to DNS, CDN, or network security concepts (e.g., Cloudflare, VPN).
  • Hands‑on experience using AI coding assistants or agentic tools (e.g., Claude Code, or similar) as part of your day-to-day engineering workflow.
  • Interest or hands‑on experience with AI tooling provisioning and governance (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI/AI Studio, or similar).
Our Stack
  • System management: Linux, Windows Server
  • Cloud platform: AWS
  • Infrastructure provisioning: Terraform
  • Infrastructure automation tools: Ansible
  • Source code management: GitHub and GitLab
  • Scripting languages: Bash, Python, Go, PowerShell
