Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Engineer to join the Business Change & Engineering team. This role involves developing new insurance product propositions for a multi‑year transformation program across our European Commercial Insurance markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain new insurance products.
• Gather and assess feedback from customers and stakeholders such as Underwriting, Sales, and Claims to identify product requirements and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate change management during new product introduction, ensuring intelligent design and simplification.
• Prioritize, plan, and execute initiatives with the product and pricing team, evaluate usability, and ensure readiness for business implementation.
• Develop structured product models tailored to flow for the Lower Middle Market customer segment.
• Configure products using Xmind and Advanced Product Designer, with Guidewire as the supporting technology suite.
• Conduct analyses of competitors’ products and pricing strategies to inform market positioning; maintain knowledge of industry trends and product lines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in product development, OR high school diploma with strong experience in the area.
• Knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty insurance underwriting.
• Familiarity with underwriting function guidelines, practices, and governance controls.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in product development.
• Comprehensive understanding of sales and distribution channels.
• Working knowledge of insurance software packages, particularly Guidewire, Xmind, and APD.
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven project and time management abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in change management.
