Bystronic is seeking a skilled installation engineer to prepare, install, commission and test sheet metal machining systems at customer sites across EMEA from Spain. You will configure CNC/PLC interfaces, align hardware and ensure safe, documented handover.

You will lead installations, coordinate technicians and subcontractors, support ramp-up and provide technical knowledge transfer. Travel up to 50% and fluent English and Spanish are required.

Formación

• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning and testing of machines.
• Experience with CNC/PLC systems and electrical components is essential.
• Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics is required or advantageous.

• Support handover with customer training and documentation.

What you will be doing

• Prepare for installations by reviewing site requirements and technical documentation.
• Install, commission and test machines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic work.
• Align machines, make adjustments and check that all components work together as intended.
• Connect machines with automation systems and test interfaces and material flow.
• Configure CNC/PLC systems and software; carry out functional, safety and cutting tests.
• Troubleshoot issues on site and work with specialist support teams when needed.
• Support machine ramp-up and confirm technical readiness for customer handover.
• Lead assigned installations, coordinating fellow technicians, subcontractors and local service teams.
• Cooperate with 2nd and 3rd Level Support when issues cannot be resolved onsite.

Documentation

• Complete installation and commissioning reports, including test results and technical adjustments.
• Record technical issues and open points, and provide feedback to improve future installations.

Customers & Team

• Keep customers and project managers informed of progress, technical issues and next steps.
• Work with local service teams to complete the technical handover.
• Document installation results and share insights that help improve future installations.
• Support less experienced technicians and share your technical knowledge across the team.
• Ensure that the machine/system is technically ready for formal handover and customer training.

Your education & experience

• A technical apprenticeship or degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in machine installation, commissioning, maintenance or field service.
• Hands‑on experience with CNC/PLC systems, electrical components, pneumatics and hydraulics. Experience with automation systems is an advantage.

• Good English and Spanish communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across EMEA for up to 50% of your working time.
